Musk was born and raised in South Africa. However, at the age of 17, he moved to Canada to attend Queen’s University. 2. Self-Taught Programmer

It is a known fact that the character of Tony Stark has a subtle reference to Musk. Robert Downey Jr. who plays the character of Iron Man wanted to sit and spend time with Elon Musk to understand him better. Few portions of Iron Man 2 film were shot inside SpaceX. Whenever asked about his passion for knowledge and reading, Musk has said that he would read books for 10 hours a day. After landing up in North America, Musk had made his plan to survive on $1 a day. He has been quoted saying, “I went more for the hotdogs and oranges… [but] you do get tired of hot dogs and oranges after a while.” Although, he was in favour of occasional indulgence in pasta, green pepper, and sauce. But, he agreed that it would “go pretty far.”
